Skin acne can happen anywhere that has hair follicles but the most common places are the face, chest and back (bacne). If you're looking for ways to prevent acne, finding out how the pimples come about in the first place is a good place to start. That means you can concentrate on preventing acne with methods that address these causes.
Here are the 3 main factors that contribute to acne.
1. Bacteria
The bacteria called Propionibacterium Acnes(P. Acne) is the bacteria that causes skin acne. It attracts white blood cells to fight it off which causes inflammation and redness that accompanies many pimples. Preventing acne with a treatment that is designed to kill off this bacteria will be a big help in clearing your acne.
2. Sebum (oil)
The secretion of sebum is our bodies natural way of keeping our skin moisturised. People who suffer from acne have sebaceous glands that produce too much oil. The extra oil blocks the pores and causes breakouts. The blockage of excess oil also creates a good environment for acne bacteria to thrive so addressing this problem will go a long way in preventing acne.
3. Shedding of Skin Cells
We are constantly shedding skin cells which flake away and are replaced with new cells. Acne sufferers skin sheds more dead skin cells than normal skin does which means there's more chance of pores being blocked. Since there are more dead skin cells to cope with the skin doesn't shed them properly and the cells become stuck in the hair follicle. A proper exfoliation routine will help in preventing acne to give the skin a helping hand in removing those excess skin cells.
